Lachlan Fitzpatrick

Lachlan Fitzpatrick is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in guidance, navigation, and control systems, currently serving as a Senior Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer at Rocket Lab since November 2019. Prior experience includes roles as a Guidance, Navigation and Control Software Engineer and as CEO of Math Mate, where responsibilities spanned pitching, software development, and business strategy. Lachlan has also served as a Mechatronic Engineering Tutor at The University of Queensland, where leading practical sessions and grading students were key duties. Academic achievements include research scholarships focused on trajectory optimization and tactile sensors. Additional roles encompass Engineering Lead for a proposal to AIAA's Undergraduate Space Design Competition and engineering positions at various organizations, including Burra Foods and a nuclear reactor facility in Germany. Lachlan holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering/Physics from The University of Queensland.
