Lyle C. is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in thermal protection systems and propulsion development within the aerospace sector. Currently serving as a Senior Development Engineer at Rocket Lab, Lyle leads the thermal protection systems (TPS) efforts for the Neutron reusable launch vehicle, contributing to both design and development of cost-effective TPS solutions for various projects including the Venus probe and Electron launch vehicle. Lyle's previous roles include propulsion development engineering for the EscaPADE Mars mission and mechanical engineering at Gilmour Space Technologies, where Lyle focused on ablative composites and structural analyses. Lyle holds a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Western Australia, where Lyle also contributed as a research assistant and tutor.
