Patrick Crandall is a Ph.D. candidate at the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering, focusing on air-breathing electric propulsion and alternative propellants within the UCLA Plasma and Space Propulsion Lab. From 2017 to 2020, Patrick conducted research at Virginia Tech, leading projects on x-ray scintillators and plasma diagnostics, and also interned at Cubic Aerospace, where they developed battery testing software. Currently serving as a Sr. Spacecraft Systems Engineer at Rocket Lab since 2024, Patrick aims to advance technologies that enable innovative space missions. They hold both a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Virginia Tech, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
