Robert Eldridge

Avionics Engineer

Robert Eldridge is an experienced avionics engineer currently working at Rocket Lab since September 2023. Previously, Robert held the role of avionics engineer at Black Sky Aerospace from December 2020 to August 2023, where responsibilities included pioneering the development of sovereign avionics in Australia for sounding rockets and missiles, with a focus on integrating customer avionics and payloads. Robert's background in mechatronics led to the development of a sovereign flight computer during a Master's thesis at the University of Queensland, along with relevant full-time and part-time work experience at Black Sky Aerospace. In addition, Robert has held positions as an academic tutor and research intern at the University of Queensland and has a solid educational foundation with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours Class 1) and a Master of Engineering in Mechatronics and Avionics Engineering from the same institution.
