Jay Jones

Jay Jones serves as Chief Servicing Officer at Rocket Mortgage, overseeing the mortgage servicing portfolio of nearly 10 million homeowners.

Prior to Rocket’s acquisition of Mr. Cooper Group, Jay served as Executive Vice President of Servicing for Mr. Cooper, the largest mortgage servicer in the United States.

Jay has more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry, serving in various leadership roles and strategically guiding servicers through the ever-changing industry landscape. His responsibilities encompassed a variety of functions including leading capital marketing, analytics, credit management, servicing and special servicing.

From 2009 to 2019, Jay served as an Executive Vice President at CIT Bank and OneWest Bank. In these roles, he helped turn struggling servicing operations into profitable business lines by streamlining processes and identifying opportunities for efficiency. He was instrumental in helping rebuild the Financial Freedom portfolio prior to its sale to a private equity firm. Additionally, Jay created a broker-dealer during his time at IndyMac Bank, fulfilling several important functions like providing investment and market advice and guidance to stakeholders. His roots remain in accounting, where he began his career with Grant Thornton.

Jay also currently serves on the board for Cyprexx Services, a premier national field services company.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jay is deeply committed to supporting children and families through initiatives focused on ending child homelessness, improving access to education, and making youth sports available to everyone. A U.S. Navy veteran, he actively supports programs that help fellow veterans transition to civilian life and served as the Executive Sponsor of Mr. Cooper’s employee resource group, Cooper Patriots.

Jay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge, and an MBA from Purdue University.
