Chris Malcolm has worked in the field of architecture and software engineering since 2010. Chris began their career as a Teaching Assistant and Web Developer for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2010. In 2011, they became an Architectural Designer for BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group, where they worked on projects of various scales, including an installation in Miami, a residential masterplan in Hamburg Germany, and a tower in Vancouver. In 2013, they were a Web Developer for arcbazar.com, Inc., where they were tasked with integrating social logins, creating a designer marketplace with Paypal API, and making design and aesthetic tweaks. In 2014, they worked as an Architectural Professional for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), where they provided geometrical expertise, refinements, and new tools and scripting in 3D applications such as Revit, Rhinoceros, and more via Python, Dynamo, Grasshopper, and Javascript. Chris also worked on several projects ranging from various scales and phases (Concept - Construction Documents) as an Architectural Designer. In the same year, Chris Malcolm also worked as a GIS Consultant and Visualization Specialist for Höweler + Yoon Architects, where they produced research on demographics, neighborhood amenities, and created a web-based tool for the team to produce a importable data set. In 2018, they began working as a Senior Lead Software Engineer for RocketReach.co, and as a Design Computation Lead for NBBJ Design, where they led lectures and tutorials on python scripting for SF Studio, wrote internal tools for 3D,VR,AR and web applications using JS/Python/Processing.
Chris Malcolm attended the University of Florida from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Design with a focus in architecture. Chris then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) in Architecture.
