Ecosystems Director at rockstart

Roy De Weerd is currently the Ecosystems Director at Rockstart. Prior to this, they worked as an Event Manager at Amsterdam Conference Centre Beurs van Berlage from November 2017 to October 2018. Roy was responsible for high end events, security, and housekeeping. Roy also contributed to creating marketing campaigns and managed budgets and stakeholders. From January 2012 to June 2012, Roy travelled through Australia and Asia, an experience that taught him a lot about life. In 2010, they were an Event Manager at Voetbalschool Techniek in charge of the organisation of the Dutch Technique Championships. Roy also created content for their website and managed stakeholders. From 2009 to 2012, they worked as a Sales Manager and then Location & Project Manager at PBN. In 2009, they also worked as an Allround Entertainer at a French campsite.

After high school, Roy De Weerd attended Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences where they earned their BBA in Sports Management & Business. Roy also minored in Sports & Business. Roy then went on to earn their certification from BHV.NL in BHV & BMC and from Prowareness in Scrum Master. Roy also has a certification from VeBON in VeBon Opleider and from SVH (Stichting Vakbekwaamheid Horeca) in Sociale Hygiëne. In addition, they have a certification from Snowsports Academy in Anwärter Snowboarden and from PADI in PADI Open Water. Finally, they have a KNVB certification in TCIII Voetbaltrainer and a MEDIC First Aid Nederland certification in Firts Aid.

They are on a team with Zara Doyle Cunningham - Corporate Program Manager, Tonko Wedda - Director of Health at Rockstart, and Michael Bjørnlund - Emerging Technologies Lead. Their manager is Rune Theill, Co-founder & CEO.
