Michael Zarin

Vice President, Group Communications at Rockwool

Michael Zarin has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning different industries and roles. Michael started their career as an International Affairs Analyst at the Congressional Research Service in 1987. From there, they worked as a Policy Analyst/Project Manager at Information Resources Technology and as a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Dave Durenberger.

In 1993, Zarin joined the International Republican Institute as a Regional Program Director, where they designed and managed democracy promotion programs in Latin America and the Caribbean. Michael also worked at the U.S. Department of State as a Latin America Policy Advisor, advising senior policymakers and representing the Department in various forums.

Zarin later transitioned into the private sector and served as the Program Director at SIMI, working with medical products and pharmaceutical industry executives. Michael then moved on to Vestas Wind Systems A/S, where they held various roles including Head of Media Relations, Head of External Communications & Media Relations, and eventually Head of Communications.

Currently, Zarin is the Vice President of Group Communications at ROCKWOOL Group. In this role, they are responsible for external and internal communications, media relations, and serves as a company spokesperson and communications advisor to senior executives.

Throughout their career, Zarin has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic communication expertise, and a deep understanding of public policy and international affairs.

Michael Zarin completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Spanish at Furman University from 1981 to 1985. Michael then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Law and Diplomacy with a focus on International Security and Diplomacy at The Fletcher School at Tufts University from 1985 to 1987.
