Michael Sutton

Michael Sutton has a diverse work experience in various technical roles. Michael started their career in the United States Air Force as a computer and switching systems specialist from 1988 to 1997. After leaving the Air Force, they worked as a Field Engineer at Lockheed Martin from 1997 to 1999. Following this, they joined Sanchez Computer Associates as a Senior Technical Trainer from 1999 to 2003. Michael then worked at IXOS Software AG as a Support Engineer/Technical Trainer from 2003 to 2005.

From 2005 to 2013, Michael held the position of Senior Content Developer/Technical Trainer at VMware, where they played a crucial role in developing content and delivering technical training. Michael then founded Sutton Consulting in 2013 and worked as a Technical Instructor until early 2014. Subsequently, they joined VMware Inc. as a Senior Technical Trainer for a brief period. In 2014, they transitioned to Amazon Web Services and worked as a Technical Trainer until 2017.

In 2017, Michael founded their own company, Sutton Cloud Services, Inc, where they worked as a Technical Consultant until 2020. Currently, they serve as the Director of Cloud Education at ROI Training, a position they assumed in 2020. Overall, Michael has extensive experience in technical training and consulting roles within the cloud computing industry.

Michael Sutton holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, which they obtained from the University of Phoenix between 2003 and 2005. Prior to that, from 1991 to 1993, they attended the Community College of the Air Force and earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications.

In terms of additional certifications, Michael Sutton has obtained several credentials related to cloud computing. Michael is an AWS Authorized Instructor - Cloud Champion, certified as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, and Amazon Web Services Certified SysOps Administrator-Associate. Moreover, they have also become an Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect-Associate and Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect - Professional. Additionally, Michael has received certifications from Google, including Google cloud digital leader, Google Cloud Certified Professional: Cloud Architect, and Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer. Furthermore, they are a Google Cloud Platform Authorized Trainer. Lastly, Michael holds an Oracle Certified Database Administrator - 8i certification and VMware certifications as a VMware Certified Advanced Professional- Data Center Design 4 and VMware Data Center Advanced Professional-Data Center Administrator 5.
