Shellie Sakamoto

Shellie Sakamoto is an accomplished tax professional with extensive experience in global tax matters across multiple prestigious organizations. Currently serving as Senior Director and Head of Tax at Roku since December 2024, Shellie oversees all direct and indirect global tax matters, including M&A, planning, tax accounting, compliance, and worldwide tax controversy while managing a team of six professionals. Previously, Shellie held key leadership roles at GoPro, Inc., and Altera Corporation, where responsibilities included M&A, tax compliance, and managing tax teams. Shellie's career began at Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, where significant experience was gained in client engagement and tax compliance. Academic qualifications include a Master's in Taxation from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from USC Marshall School of Business, along with a CPA designation and Toastmasters certification.
