James Stables

Capability Lead - Instrumentation Design (uk) at Rolls-Royce

James Stables has extensive experience with Rolls-Royce, having held various leadership and engineering positions since 2013. Currently serving as Capability Lead for Instrumentation Design in the UK, Stables previously led instrumentation engineering teams and managed test facilities. From September 2014 to December 2019, Stables worked as Technical Programme Lead for the UltraFan project and Integrated Project Team Lead for Trent XWB turbines, contributing to the development of the Trent XWB-97K engine for the Airbus A350-1000. Stables began with Rolls-Royce as an Engineering Graduate Development Trainee and progressed through roles such as Manufacturing Engineer and Advanced Projects Systems Engineer. Stables holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Bristol.
