Jun Shi is a seasoned professional in the field of ceramic matrix composites, currently serving as a Senior Technologist at Rolls-Royce since July 2011, where leadership is provided on two development projects and a successful AFRL lifing project proposal was secured. Prior to this role, experience includes serving as a Principal Research Engineer at UTRC from March 2000 to July 2011, focusing on design, analysis, and testing of components for gas turbine engines and external R&D proposals. Earlier career developed at ABB ALSTOM from February 1995 to March 2000, where advanced nonlinear finite element methods and the design of a CMC combustor were led. Jun Shi holds a Ph.D. in Computational Mechanics from Imperial College London, earned between 1986 and 1990.
