Maria Herrera

Maria Herrera has over 35 years of experience in the accounting and finance industry. Maria began their career in 1985 as a Senior Auditor at KPMG Colombia. In 1988, they were promoted to Audit Director at Varela S.A., where they successfully developed and implemented a long-term audit strategic plan, creating an internal controls culture in the company. In 2000, Maria moved to Transmacro Inc. as a Financial Manager, where they were responsible for the preparation and analysis of monthly consolidated financial statements, calculation and analysis of variances versus budgets, and administering cash flow and financial planning. Maria then moved to tempCFO, Inc. in 2014 as an Accounting Controller, where they managed client relationships and mentored and supervised staff accountants. Most recently, in 2021, Maria joined Rooled as a Senior Controller, where they are responsible for reviewing overall accounting operations and managing client relationships.

Maria Herrera obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Accounting and Finance from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana between 1982 and 1987. Maria then went on to obtain an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Accounting and Finance from Universidad del Valle (CO) between 1992 and 1994.
