Chief Executive Officer at Root

Charlotte Koep started their work experience in 2009 as a Research Assistant at the University of Cape Town. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as an Associate at Bowmans (Law Firm), specializing in banking and corporate/commercial law. In 2016, they became an Investment Associate at 4Di Capital. From 2019 to 2020, they served as the General Manager at FireID, where they managed operational and finance functions and supported portfolio companies. In 2015, they founded Chill Winstan. Currently, Charlotte is the Chief Operating Officer at Root, overseeing financial and funding aspects, operational and legal touch-points, sales, strategy, and team growth. Charlotte has a background in law and private equity/venture capital transactions.

Charlotte Koep began their education at The Diocesan School for Girls (DSG) in Grahamstown from 2002 to 2004. Following this, they attended the University of Cape Town from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Science degree with a focus on Economics. In 2009, Charlotte enrolled at the CFA Institute and completed the CFA Level 1 in Finance and Financial Management Services. Finally, from 2010 to 2012, they returned to the University of Cape Town to pursue a Bachelor of Laws degree, which they achieved with distinction (cum laude).
