Nature-connection might be the single most important priority of our time; for education, for health and wellbeing, for the future of our planet. Science shows that information alone is not enough to bridge the knowledge-behaviour gap and it is crucial we find our way back to an experiential, multi-sensory, emotional connection to nature.

We all know about the perilous state of our beautiful planet Earth and we are all affected by it, either consciously or subconsciously. New "conditions" like eco anxiety and eco fear are on the rise, paralysing many of us. Therapists are often ill-equipped to deal with this accelerating challenge and new approaches are needed to address these very real symptoms.

Our children are very aware of the global threats and this often stands in stark contrast to their actual connection to they natural environment. Kids look to us for guidance and it is imperative we model behaviours to let them know, that we are doing our best. Children want to be proactive though, they need to know we are all working together for a better future. Nature pedagogy focuses on immersion and integrating curriculum content into the natural environment so children can experience nature and connect emotionally. The love for nature is crucial for the further development of a sustainable lifestyle and for their mental and physical health.

Here at Roots and Wings we want to provide support and skills to become empowered rather than helpless, but also to re-member ourselves and get back to our roots. We offer mindfulness rooted ecotherapy and nature pedagogy consultation and coaching for individuals, families and educational settings to promote positive and proactive change.
