Melissa Bender

Melissa Bender is a Partner at Ropes & Gray LLP, where since September 2000, expertise has been focused on representing investment advisers and hedge funds in fund formation, management, and operations. Melissa also advises institutional clients on investments in private funds, including primary and secondary transactions and co-investments. Previously, as Associate Counsel at Genzyme Corporation from April 2004 to October 2005, Melissa provided guidance on securities compliance and corporate operations. Melissa holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law, obtained in 1999, and an A.B. in English from Stanford University, awarded in 1994.
