Wei Xia

Wei Xia is an R&D Manager at Roquette, where they lead a local team in Wuhan focused on the development of polyunsaturated fatty acids from microalgae and fungi. They have experience in strain management, fermentation design, and lipid microencapsulation, alongside guiding industrial scale-up trials and securing patents. Previously, they held research roles at Quorn Foods, PepsiCo, and Mars Petcare, and completed a summer internship at AstraZeneca. Wei obtained a PhD in Food Science, an MSc in Food Production Management, and a BSc in Food Science from the University of Nottingham and Shanghai Fisheries University, respectively.
