Matt Smith is the founder of Openrole, an AI assistant for job seekers that launched in 2021 and has since grown to 8,000 users with over $100,000 in recurring revenue. They conducted extensive user interviews to refine the product, which leverages OpenAI’s technology and a sophisticated ETL pipeline. Previously, Matt held roles as a graduate research scientist at the California Institute of Technology and contributed to a master's thesis at the University of Oxford, simulating gene regulatory networks. They have also served in various data science and product management roles, including as a product manager at Insight Data Science. Currently, Matt advises Rora.
