Kai Salminen

Kai Salminen is a nuclear project professional with over 15 years of hands-on experience in the industry, both in Finland and abroad, focusing on operating reactors and new build projects. They served as Project Manager at Fortum Nuclear Services from 2001 to 2007 and held various managerial roles at Fennovoima from 2007 to 2012, including Nuclear Safety Director. As the Head of Nuclear Safety Group at RAOS Project since 2016, they coordinate nuclear safety and licensing activities for the Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant. They also owned and operated Pion Nuclear Project Services and have advised on nuclear licensing and regulatory affairs at Fortum Power and Heat. Kai holds a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Management and Economics.
