Michael McDonald has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Michael began their career in 2000 as a Regional Vice President at Commonwealth Bank, where they managed a 15 branch territory and achieved the highest percentage over consumer loan goal of any Traditional Region. In 2003, they moved to Charter One Bank as a Regional Vice President, where they managed regions of 9 to 20+ bank branches and doubled opening day production. From 2008 to 2016, they worked at Morgan Stanley as Executive Director - NY Commodities and Vice President - Physical Products - EU Commodities Operations. During their time there, they had responsibility for an ever changing population of control processes, new business implementations, and large scale projects across the oil merchanting business. Michael also led firm-wide teams on divestiture preparations of $1bn+ oil merchanting business and implemented a new automated inventory balance sheet substantiation process and system. In 2016, they joined Castleton Commodities International as Executive Director, Strategic Initiatives, where they led new market initiatives and onboarding for a diverse range of power, transmission rights, gas, and oil trading opportunities on multiple continents. In 2023, they moved to Roscommon Analytics LLC as Managing Director.

Michael McDonald attended Purdue University, where they obtained a degree in Economics with a focus in Finance and Management. Michael then attended the Universidade Federal da Bahia, where they completed an Intensive Summer Language Program. In 2018, they attended the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, where they completed the Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme (Executive Education). In February 2022, they obtained a Decentralized Finance (DeFi): The Future of Finance Specialization from Coursera.
