Dan Silver

Senior Mechanical Designer at Ross Video

Dan Silver has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Dan began their career at Brock Telecom in 1992, where they worked in Test Engineering for a decade. In 2003, they transitioned to Prysmian Cables as a Quality Assurance Specialist. In 2006, they joined Ross Video as a CAD Librarian/PCB Designer, where they were responsible for product transition from R&D to production using AGILE and the deployment and administration of Autodesk Vault and Product Design Suite. Dan also created symbols, footprints, and 3D models for COTs parts and continually looked for ways to improve interoperability between various CAD packages. In 2012, they advanced to the role of Sr Drafting Technologist at Ross Video, utilizing Autodesk Vault and Product Design Suite, developing custom VBA scripts, and documenting special processes and standard operating procedures. Dan recently transitioned to the role of Mechanical Designer at Ross Video in December 2019, where they are involved in engineering designs, drawings, and managing changes using AGILE PDM. Throughout their career, Dan has demonstrated a strong aptitude for design, documentation, and automation in various engineering roles.

Dan Silver attended the Radio College Of Canada from 1991 to 1992, where they pursued a degree in Electronic Engineering Technician with a focus on Electronics. Dan also studied at George Brown College, though there is no information available regarding the duration or degree obtained at this institution. In 2016, they obtained certification as an Inventor Certified Professional from Autodesk.
