Jay Yu has held multiple roles in the tech industry since 2021. In 2021, Yu was a Research and Development Intern at AISpeech Co., Ltd. in Shensilicon Semiconductors, where they were the lead software engineer for in-house Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software. Jay also created a byte-code compiler for PyTorch Deep Neural Network (DNN) models to run on Shensilicon in-house microchips and developed searching algorithms based on Bayesian Optimization models to find hardware-firmware combinations for a given DNN shape that optimizes power, performance, and area (PPA). In 2022, Yu became the Head of Content & Venture Fellow at Rough Draft Ventures and the Researcher for Web3.com Ventures' Investment Team, where they created original content and industry analysis, including zk-SNARKs, Move-based L1 chains, and Proof-of-Reserves. Jay also founded TSalon.io as a Web3-native Publishing House, where articles are peer-reviewed by a token-gated DAO and published as free-to-read, pay-to-collect NFTs.
Jay Yu attended Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong from 2016 to 2020, graduating with a High School Diploma and an International Baccalaureate. Jay is currently attending Stanford University, where they are pursuing a B.S. + B.A. Dual Degree in Computer Science and Philosophy & Literature.
