Joseph Olt has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years in the IT industry. Joseph has held various roles in different companies, primarily focusing on Linux and Unix administration.
In their most recent role as the Lead System Engineer at Route1 since 2014, Joseph has been responsible for overseeing the setup, deployment, and system design changes of Route1's flagship product, MobiKEY, in government environments. Joseph has also maintained these environments with patches and security evaluations, ensuring they meet the STIG requirements for government environments.
Prior to this, Joseph worked as a Linux Administrator at Cognizant Technology Solutions in 2013, setting up the Linux environment as specified by documentation. Joseph also worked as a Senior Linux Administrator at Client Advocacy Top5 in 2013, where they maintained over 400 physical RHEL and Unix systems connected to EMC SANs.
Joseph has also worked as a Senior Unix Administrator at Daston Corporation in 2012, maintaining Solaris 10 servers and applying STIGs. Joseph has experience working with application developers to troubleshoot issues and update configurations.
Before that, Joseph worked as a Senior Linux Systems Administrator at Technology Service Professionals from 2007 to 2012, where they maintained a Linux environment for software developers and automated the build process using Platform LSF.
Joseph's earlier experience includes roles such as Associate Director, Systems Administrator at Dunnhumby USA, UNIX Systems Administrator at ActioNet, Inc., Senior Computer Analyst at Chugach Alaska Corporation, and Systems Administrator at American Life League.
Throughout their career, Joseph has demonstrated expertise in Linux and Unix administration, server maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring high uptime. Joseph has also worked in government environments and is familiar with security requirements.
Joseph Olt received a Master of Science degree in Network Architecture and Design from Capella University from 2006 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University in 2006. In 1992 to 1994, Joseph studied Computer Science at United States Jobs. Joseph also obtained certifications such as CompTIA Security+ ce from CompTIA in January 2013, and Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) in RHEL5 from RedHat in 2012.
