Brian Caplin is currently the VP Engineering and Development at Rover Diagnostics. Prior to this, he was the Chief Scientific Officer at XCR Diagnostics where he launched XCR technology. He also served as the Chief Scientific Officer at Fluoresentric, Inc., focusing on assay design and product innovation. Additionally, he was the President/CEO at FL Biognostics, specializing in wine biological and chemical analysis laboratory services. With his background as Director at Idaho Technology and experience as an R&D Scientist, he has made significant contributions in the field of biochemistry. Brian holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Indiana University School of Medicine, a B.A. in Biology from Wabash College, and completed studies in Molecular Genetics at The Ohio State University.

Rover Diagnostics was founded in 2018 by Samuel Sia and Mark Fasciano in collaboration with Columbia University. Based in New York City, Rover’s primary mission is to help meet the urgent global need for a cost-effective, highly sensitive, mass-produced point-of-care COVID-19 instrument and test kit system. Rover is a participant in the NIH RADx program to accelerate availability and capacity for COVID testing.
