Matt Merrill has a diverse background, beginning as a Planning and Redevelopment Consultant for Rosenow Spevacek Group in 2006. Matt then served as a Real Estate Financial Analyst for Prudential Financial, where they analyzed and underwrote financing for commercial real estate valued at over $6 billion collectively in 2007-2009. In 2009-2010, Matt Merrill served as a Financial Analyst for Paramount Pictures. Matt started their architecture career as an Architectural Designer at Platform for Architecture + Research in 2010-2011, where they conceptualized and designed various projects. Matt later served as an Architectural Designer at NAGA Architects in 2012-2013, contributed to Finland's campus master plan project, and as a Presidential Fellow in Instruction and Technology at Harvard University in 2012-2013, where they collaborated with faculty and created instructional media, videos, animations, workshops, and exercises. Following that, Matt Merrill was an Architectural and UI Designer for GLUCK+ in 2013, working on designs, drawings, and details for a wide range of design-build projects. Later, they served as an Architectural and Urban Designer at AECOM in 2014, where they created master plans, architectural designs, and renderings for urban, architectural, and transit projects and worked on the RFP-winning proposal for a large transit project and master plan in Long Beach, CA. In 2014-2015, they were an Architectural Designer at UNStudio and worked on Qatar's new subway system. Finally, from 2016 to the present, Matt Merrill served as a Creative Director and CEO of Rowan Technology, where they managed all day-to-day operations, developed a long-term strategy for the educational technology company, and oversaw all roles. Matt improved the security, stability, interface, and features of a complex suite of products, serving over 18,000 active users with 33,000 products, and designed and programmed custom interactives for academic, private, and institutional clients, utilizing complex software, custom coding, and a wide range of JavaScript libraries.
Matt Merrill earned a Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning and Development, as well as Economics at the University of Southern California from 2002 to 2007. From 2011 to 2015, they pursued a Master's Degree in Architecture at Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
