Chris Norton has a varied work experience, beginning with their role as a Head Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor at the Brooklyn Center Community Center from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, they became a Computer Science Tutor at Bethel University. In 2020, they held three internships: a Computer Vision Intern at Agosto, a Pythian Company; a Computer Vision Intern at Precision Planting, where they worked with computer vision on agricultural applications and used machine learning to analyze certain characteristics of crops; and a Data Science Intern at Optum. In 2021, they were a Software Engineer at the Planetary Surface Technology Development Lab, where they were in charge of programming the camera telemetry and other sensors like IMU and GPS to navigate autonomously. Chris also worked as a Computer Vision Microscopy Cell Segmentation Research Assistant at Michigan Technological University, where they designed a network to detect cell boundaries from various cells. Currently, they are a Machine Learning Lead at Rowbot Systems, where their primary role is managing the data pipeline and labelers, developing models, and conducting data collection and Rowbot maintenance.
Chris Norton received their High School Diploma from Nova Classical Academy Upper School in 2018. Chris then completed Dual Enrollment at Bethel University in 2018 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University, which they are expected to complete in 2022. In addition, Chris has obtained two certifications: "How Google does Machine Learning" from Coursera in 2020, and "Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)" from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians in 2019.
