Álvaro Samagaio

Álvaro Samagaio is an experienced professional in the fields of data science and engineering, currently serving as the Host of Shutdown Podcast and as a Data & Analytics Engineer at Rows, where contributions focus on improving spreadsheet data ingestion through OCR and Computer Vision solutions. As Co-Host of Founder Tales Podcast, Álvaro showcases the stories of Portuguese startups and their founders. Previous roles include Consultant at LTPlabs, where a combination of analytical and business skills was leveraged to enhance decision-making for clients, Research Assistant at Fraunhofer Portugal, where a chatbot for a nutrition recommender system was developed, and various positions within educational organizations. Álvaro holds a Master’s Degree in Bioengineering from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, augmented by an Erasmus+ internship in Computer Vision at the University of Glasgow.
