Royer Labs is the world's leading designer and manufacturer of professional ribbon microphones, handcrafted in Burbank, California.
Since 1998, we've been on a singular mission: to capture sound the way it was meant to be heard. When we introduced the R-121, we didn't just launch a product — we reignited an entire microphone category, reintroducing the warmth and natural fidelity of ribbon technology to a new generation of recording engineers and musicians.
That momentum never stopped. Following the success or the R-121 we launched the SF-12 stereo ribbon mic, the R-122 — the world's first phantom-powered ribbon microphone — and the R-122V tube ribbon mic. In 2013, we received the Technical GRAMMY® Award from The Recording Academy, recognizing Royer Labs for bringing ribbon microphones into mainstream recording worldwide.
Every Royer microphone is hand-built by craftsmen who are obsessive about sonic excellence. Our mics are trusted by Grammy-winning engineers, world-touring artists, and top recording studios across the globe. From soaring orchestra sessions to roaring guitar amplifiers, Royer ribbons deliver the most natural, musical recordings possible.
The microphone is the first link in the recording chain — and the most important. We build ours to be worthy of that role.
