Stuart looks across a number of segments for strong management teams in large markets at RRE, which he founded with Jim Robinson in 1994. Stuart is currently a director of Bark & Co., Fi, Groups, Kindbody, Ladder, One Drop, and Prove, and is involved with Camp, Clearpath Robotics, and The Square Foot.

From 2003-2018, Stuart taught a popular Venture Capital Seminar to MBA candidates at Columbia Business School. He is a member of the investment board of Columbia’s Tamer Fund for Social Ventures, the New York City Investment Fund’s Innovation Council, the VC Advisory Group of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the Economic Club of New York, and the NYC 2020 CEO Roundtable. Stuart also serves on the President’s Council for Wesleyan University and from 2010-2020 was on the board and an officer of The Browning School.
In addition to his professional work, Stuart served as President of 92Y from 2012-2015 and Chairman from 2015-2018. During his tenure, Stuart was instrumental in launching a number of philanthropic and entrepreneurial initiatives including #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving; 7 Days of Genius, a multi-platform, multi-venue festival of ideas; 92Y’s first MOOC, “How to Change the World,” offered in partnership with Wesleyan University; 92YOnDemand, a new content website with more than 103,000 followers; and an expanded partnership with NYCEDC to host the NYC Venture Fellows program, in which Stuart served as a mentor to promising young entrepreneurs.
Previously, Stuart worked at McKinsey and Company and at Dillon, Read & Co. Before founding RRE Ventures, Stuart and Jim Robinson were cofounders of InterVideo Response, an in-stadium touchscreen ordering startup, which proved to be about ten years too early. Stuart holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard University and a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University, where he was a Gilbert Clee Scholar and a Horace White Fellow. Stuart can be found playing squash, spending time with his wife and two kids, and waxing poetic about his black cat.
