Pete Smithson is an experienced professional in the energy sector, currently serving as a Risk Engineering Consultant at RSA since February 2022. Previously, from March 2015 to February 2022, Pete held the position of O&M Plant Manager at Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor, where responsibilities included establishing operational and engineering teams for the Brigg Renewable Energy Plant. Prior to this, Pete was the Manager of Fleet Outages at EDF Energy, overseeing outage management strategies for multiple coal-fired generation units from May 2013 to February 2015. Additionally, Pete worked at E.ON UK as the Engineering Integrity Team Leader, managing major overhauls and enhancing engineering integrity for over 1400MW of installed plant from June 2007 to May 2013. Earlier experience includes roles as Mechanical Engineering Team Leader and Boiler Engineer. Pete holds a 1st Class BEng in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Operations from Swansea University.
