Ian Jacobs

Professor Ian Jacobs is a prominent doctor, academic, and charity trustee, currently serving as Chair of Barts Health NHS Trust, Chair of Council at City St George's University of London, and Trustee and Chair of the Research Committee at the Eve Appeal. Returning to the UK in 2022 after his tenure as President and Vice-Chancellor of UNSW Sydney, Ian has extensive experience in the field of women's cancer research, having led a team for over 35 years. Ian qualified in medicine from both the University of Cambridge and the University of London and has significantly contributed to cancer detection and risk prediction, resulting in substantial grant funding and numerous publications. Additionally, Ian founded the Uganda Women’s Health Initiative and held leadership positions in various organizations focused on health and education.
