Ann Mills has over 20 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Ann started their career at Cranfield University as a Senior Research Officer, where they worked from April 1994 to January 2000. Ann then joined GfK NOP as a Research Analyst from January 2000 to January 2001. In January 2001, they joined RSSB as the Head of Human Factors, where they spearheaded the development of Human Factors as a discipline in the rail industry for over 17 years. Ann also held the role of Head of Health and Safety at RSSB from January 2018 to June 2022, leading a department of specialists and supporting industry activities in delivering the rail industry Health and Safety Strategy. Throughout their career, they have also served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Rail and Rapid Transportation (Part F) from August 2016 to June 2022. Most recently, Ann has been appointed as the Deputy Director System Safety and Health at RSSB, starting in June 2022.
Ann Mills has a PhD in Applied Psychology from Cranfield University, which they obtained from 1996 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed an MSc in Applied Psychology at Cranfield University from 1993 to 1994. Ann also holds a BA degree in Applied Social Sciences from Coventry University, which they achieved from 1990 to 1993. The field of study for all their degrees is focused on Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
