Director System Safety And Health at RSSB

Chris Knowles has a diverse work experience spanning over several sectors and roles. Chris is currently the Director System Safety and Health at RSSB, where they lead the System Safety and Health Directorate, developing and delivering the Rail Industry Health and Safety Strategy. Prior to this, they served as the Professional Head of Asset Integrity at RSSB, leading a team focused on delivering the Leading Health and Safety in Britain's Railways Strategy.

Before joining RSSB, Chris held the position of Director, Strategic Consulting at Amey, where they led strategic Asset Management programs across various sectors. Chris also served as the Group Head of Asset Management Policy and Systems at MAG (Airports Group), accountable for implementing Asset Management systems and standards across the Manchester Airports Group.

Chris has a background in consulting, having worked as a Global VP Asset Management Consulting at Lloyd's Register. Chris also held various technical and management roles at British Rail, Railtrack, and Mason Communications earlier in their career.

Chris Knowles completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree with First Class Honours in Electronic Engineering from the University of Liverpool from 1983 to 1986. In 1988, Chris enrolled in the ACCA program to obtain a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance. The end year for this program is not provided.
