Aurelie Berckmans has a diverse work experience in the media industry. Aurelie started their career in 2001 as a freelance film director, where they directed various programs such as documentaries, debates, and entertainment shows. Aurelie then worked at Warner Bros. Entertainment Group of Companies in the Research and Development department from 2007 to 2011. From 2009 to 2015, they also served as a teacher at IAD Institut des Arts de Diffusion, specializing in methodology in the creative process. Aurelie Berckmans held several roles at RTBF, starting as the General Programme Coordination for The Voice Belgique from 2011 to 2013. Aurelie then became the Head of Research & Development - Global Media from 2013 to 2015, focusing on creating and developing TV formats with a global media approach. From 2015 to 2018, they served as the Deputy to the Director of Television, where they advised on editorial lines and managed the Research and Development Department. Their most recent role at RTBF was as the Head of Young Adults, responsible for managing and developing multiplatform projects targeted at Millennials. Furthermore, they were a member of the Board of Directors and Operating Committee at BMMA - Belgian Management and Marketing Association from 2013 to 2016. Aurelie also served as a jury member for a financial support program for TV format pilots in the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles from 2013 to 2014.

Aurelie Berckmans completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in TV Features and Documentary Production from The University of Salford in 1999-2000. Prior to that, they obtained another Master of Arts (MA) degree in Film Director in Performing Arts, Techniques of Diffusion and Communication from the Institut des Arts de Diffusion from 1995-1999.
