RTV Slovenija is a Public Institution and non-profit organisation. It renders public service in the field of radio and television activities in accordance to the RTV Slovenija Act. 

It produces two national TV programmes, two regional TV programmes, TV programmes for Italian and Hungarian National Communities, three national radio programmes, regional radio programmes, and the radio programme for foreign public. It includes two radio programmes that produce programmes for indigenous Italian and Hungarian National Communities in Slovenia.

In addition, it prepares radio and television shows for the Romany ethnic community, radio and television shows for the Slovene ethnic communities in the neighbouring countries and for Slovene expatriates and migrant workers.

It also prepares a special national television programme in tended for live and delayed broadcasts of meetings of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and its working bodies; and its television production is gradually switching to high definition technology (HDTV). 

Future expansion of RTV Slovenija is evident also in the development of RTV Slovenija Multimedia Centre (MMC), which produces teletext, websites (www.rtvslo.si) with extensive video and audio archives, mobile portal and info-channels. 

RTV Slovenija includes also the Symphonic Orchestra, the Big Band, the Chamber Choir, the Children's and Youth Choirs, a team of music producers, a music library “Nototeka” and the RTV Slovenija Record Label.

The Journalism Team at RTV Slovenija is responsible for producing and delivering news content across the organization's diverse platforms, which include national and regional TV and radio programs, as well as online and mobile portals. This team covers a wide range of topics, including local and international news, sports, cultural events, and specific broadcasts for national communities and ethnic groups. Through investigative reporting, live broadcasts, and multimedia storytelling, the Journalism Team ensures that the audience receives accurate, timely, and comprehensive information. They also contribute to special programs like parliamentary sessions and produce content for teletext and digital archives.

This includes overseeing high definition technology integration, managing multimedia content delivery systems, ensuring optimal functionality of broadcast equipment, and providing technical support for live and recorded shows. They also focus on research and development to innovate and improve broadcasting capabilities and multimedia services.

This team includes content writers, creators, editors, producers, and voice over artists who collaborate to produce engaging radio and television shows, promotional content, music programs, and children's programming. They ensure that all content aligns with RTV Slovenija's standards and fulfills its mission of serving the public and ethnic communities with informative and entertaining programming.

The Design Team at RTV Slovenija is responsible for creating visual and auditory elements that enhance the overall production quality of the company's radio, television, and multimedia content. This includes designing and implementing virtual and physical sets, developing graphics and visual effects, and ensuring cohesive sound design. The team collaborates closely with other departments to produce engaging and high-quality content for a diverse array of programs, including national broadcasts and specialized shows for various ethnic communities.

The Project Management team at RTV Slovenija coordinates and oversees various initiatives across the organization's diverse media and production arms. This includes planning, executing, and finalizing projects related to television, radio, multimedia platforms, and specialized broadcasts. They ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, while also aligning them with RTV Slovenija's strategic objectives and compliance requirements.
