Ben Woods

Ben Woods is a Principal Additive Manufacturing Engineer at RTX, leading research in Metal Powder Bed Fusion at the RTX Technology Research Center. They previously served as a Mechanical Engineer at Mainstream Engineering Corporation, where they invented patent-pending mechanisms for embedding wires during the 3D printing process and managed projects under significant funding. Ben earned both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, where they conducted research in the DREAMS Lab focusing on large-format robotic additive manufacturing. With experience from internships at Lockheed Martin and John Deere, Ben is passionate about advancing additive manufacturing technologies.
