Jahn Koch has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Jahn began their career in 2001 as an Associate to the Secretary General at Conférence des Évêques Suisses. Jahn then worked as an Editor and eventually became the Editor-in-Chief for various Swiss local and regional news media from 2002 to 2005. In 2005, Jahn served as the President of the Students' Council at Université de Fribourg/Universität Freiburg. Jahn joined Bundesamt für Umwelt BAFU in 2006 as a Scientific Associate in Communication and Media Services. In 2008, Jahn became a Program Manager for GSA Marketing & External Communications at Ernst & Young. Jahn then transitioned to the role of Customer Segment Manager for Defence at Crypto AG in 2011. From 2015 to 2020, Jahn worked as a Sales Manager at Thales Suisse SA Defence and Homeland Security. In 2020, they joined RUAG as a Senior Business Development Manager before being promoted to the position of Director of Marketing in January 2021. Throughout their career, Jahn also served in the Swiss Army, where they held various positions of increasing responsibility, including Lieutenant-Colonel in a territorial division.
Jahn Koch has a diverse education history. In 1994, they completed their Eidgenössische Matura (Swiss Federal A-Levels) at Benedictine Monastery School of Einsiedeln, Switzerland. Jahn then went on to earn their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree from the Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg in 2006. During this time, their field of study included Philosophy, Politics, Journalism, and Media Sciences. In 2003, Jahn attended the University of York, where they focused on Philosophy and Politics. Jahn furthered their studies at the University of Zurich from 2012 to 2013, earning an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree in Management and Economics. Jahn also pursued additional certifications, including a Certificate of Successful Completion for a Telecommunications seminar from Berner Fachhochschule BFH in 2011, a Swiss Federal Certificate "Leadership I" from the Association Suisse pour la Formation des Cadres SVF-ASFC in 2008, and an IELTS Academic Option from Anglia Polytechnic University of Cambridge, UK in 2001. Jahn's interest in the field of economy led him to obtain diplomas in Strategic Management from Fudan University in 2013 and Negotiation and Innovation Management from Yale University in the same year.
