Frederick Beddingfield MD

Frederick C. Beddingfield III, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist, biotech entrepreneur, and current executive and board member in the biopharmaceutical industry. They are the CEO and a director of Rubedo Life Sciences (2024–present) and serve on the board of Cytrellis Biosystems (2015–present). They previously led Sienna Biopharmaceuticals as President and CEO (2016–2019) and served as CEO of Kira Pharmaceuticals (2020–2023), with past roles including Chief Medical Officer at Allergan Medical (2003–2013) and Chief Medical Officer at Kythera Biopharmaceuticals (2013–2015). They earned an MD with Honors from the University of North Carolina and a PhD in Policy Analysis from RAND, and completed a Dermatology residency and Dermatologic Surgery fellowship at UCLA in the STAR program; they are a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine/Dermatology at the UCLA School of Medicine.
