David Erickson

David Erickson has worked for a variety of companies in various roles since 2006. David began their career as a Summer Scholar at NASA Langley Research Center, followed by a role as a Graduate Student Researcher and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of California, San Diego. From 2015 to 2019, they were the Chief Scientific Officer at Sublime, where they achieved 50x manufacturing capacity increase, 30x labor cost reduction, and employee expansion from 3 to 130, resulting in more than 30x revenue growth. In 2019, they were a Data Science Fellow at Insight Data Science, where they consulted for Fenix International to prioritize deployment locations of lease-to-own solar panels. In 2020, they were a Data Scientist at Qbiz Inc., Facebook, and Levi Strauss & Co., and in 2021 they were a Data Scientist at Cash App. Currently, they are a Senior Data Scientist at RunBuggy and an Advisory Board Member at Roshi.

David Erickson has a diverse educational background. David obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics from Virginia Tech in 2006 and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics from the same institution in 2006. David then went on to obtain a Master of Science (MS) in Physics from UC San Diego in 2008. Finally, Erickson completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics (Biophysics) from UC San Diego in 2014. Additionally, Erickson has obtained an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in August 2021.
