Daniel Solomons

Like most people who grew up in a retail family, Daniel has early memories of helping during vacations in his parents’ gift stores, whether behind the registers, in the warehouse, wrapping gifts at the holidays and generally making sure customers were happy. Those memories, in addition to countless dinner-time conversations, provided a powerful education on the realities and challenges of succeeding in retail. Graduating in 1991 from the University of California at Riverside with a dual Political Science and Business degree, Daniel became a serial entrepreneur from a young age.

An innovative Business Process Outsourcing leader, Daniel has been credited by HRO Today magazine as being one of the primary pioneers behind what has become known as “Recruitment Process Outsourcing” or RPO. Between 1997 and 2008, he founded and built the first national Recruitment Outsourcing provider to the Fortune 500, designing branded recruitment marketing and candidate management programs for premier US companies, and achieving 20,000 hires per year. Funded by profits from day one, the firm ignited what is now a multi-billion dollar industry, and achieved many firsts through innovation in process, research and workforce design, technology, marketing/branding, as well as public relations.

Adjusting his focus from Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) to SAAS (Software-as-a-Service) in 2009, Daniel turned his attention to the industry he had learned at the dinner table growing up, joining the team at Runit Systems as its CEO, with the goal of applying his background in large-scale service design and delivery toward evolving and expanding Runit’s product and support offerings.

Currently, Daniel spends most of his time overseeing Runit’s branding, marketing and product development. His vision for Runit is that it should become a net revenue driver for all of its merchants, ensuring that the company’s offerings not only meet expectations but actually lead business owners in a direction that will expose them to new concepts and approaches, ultimately enabling them to leverage technology to grow and diversify their businesses.

Daniel has been a Semi-Finalist for the Ernst and Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” award and has been written about and quoted by publications such as the NY Times, Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek. Beyond his business pursuits, Daniel (together with his wife Rachel) is deeply involved in a number of communal causes involving education and career training. Daniel originates from London, England, and moved to Los Angeles in 1982 at the age of 11. Daniel, together with his wife and three kids, moved to New York City in 2006.
