Joe Hellerstein is a distinguished computer scientist serving as the Jim Gray Professor of Computer Science at UC Berkeley since 1995. Joe is the co-founder of RunLLM and has held the position of fellow at Sutter Hill Ventures since September 2021. Hellerstein also offers technical advisory at Visual Layer, Brim Data, and Acryl Data. As the founder and chief strategy officer of Trifacta from 2012 until February 2022, Joe led initiatives centered on data and computation. Hellerstein co-directed the Berkeley RISE Lab from January 2017 to January 2022 and was a technical advisor for Datometry and Captricity. Joe earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and Harvard University.
