Chris Eng

Chris Eng is an experienced cybersecurity professional with a diverse background in venture capital, advisory roles, and product security leadership. Currently serving as a Review Board Member and Track Lead at Black Hat, Chris curates program content and leads tracks in application security. As a Limited Partner at both Runtime Ventures and Underscore VC, Chris focuses on supporting early-stage cybersecurity investments. Chris also holds a position as a Charter Member of the CWE Board at MITRE, promoting program objectives for ongoing quality and adoption. Previously, as SVP and Chief Research Officer at Veracode, Chris scaled applied research capabilities and contributed to significant company growth, including a major acquisition. Additionally, Chris has served as an Executive Advisor at Huntress and has held mentorship roles in various cybersecurity events, along with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
