Scott Scharfenberg

Scott Scharfenberg is a highly experienced Senior Hardware Engineer currently at Runwise since August 2023. Additionally, Scott serves as an Electrical and Systems Engineer at kARTopia since January 2017, contributing as a co-inventor in hardware, firmware, and software design and prototyping. Previous roles include Sensor Hardware Engineer at Google from June 2022 to July 2023 and Microscopy Physicist at Quantum Design from July 2019 to May 2022, focusing on R&D for AFM/SEM projects. Prior experience with Asylum Research included consulting and test engineering, where responsibilities included installing, repairing, and calibrating AFM systems. Scott has a strong academic background in physics, earning both a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where also acted as a research assistant and teaching assistant.
