Rural Youth Catalyst believes that a commitment to collective wellbeing is foundational for rural young people to flourish and communities to thrive. We know that how success is measured matters and focusing on defining and measuring wellbeing is critical to improving the outcomes for rural young people. We work, in concert with others, to elevate rural youth visibility, voice and leadership, innovate program design and practice, and inform systems and policies that enable rural young people to realize their hopes and dreams while remaining in, or returning to, their communities.

We seek to:
● Change popular perception of rural young people.
● Build the leadership and representation of rural youth at the regional and
national level.
● Strengthen the capacity of local practitioners to design programs to build the wellbeing of rural young people.
● Pilot innovative solutions to persistent barriers that can be replicated across rural communities.
● Change the indicators used to measure what success looks like for rural young
people and their communities.
● Influence and shape policy that supports the collective wellbeing of rural youth.
