Rakesh Setia

Rakesh Setia is the current Chief Sales Officer - Sales & Marketing at Rustomjee. Rakesh previously worked as the Circle Operations Head at Vodafone Idea Limited from September 2018 to April 2019. In this role, they were responsible for Kolkata, West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar island for Vodafone and Idea Brands post the merger of Vodafone and Idea Cellular.

Setia has also worked with India’s largest and world’s second largest Telecom company. The selection happened through a comprehensive screening and assessment of top management team through a global talent assessment firm, Spencer Stuart and National Leadership Team.

At Vodafone Idea Limited, Setia managed a top line in excess of Rs 4000 Cr p.a. for Vodafone and Idea Brands by leading a large and diversified team of about 900 on rolls team across Sales, Marketing, Retail and Customer Service functions. Rakesh also managed a large distribution channel of nearly 900 distributors, 1.50 lac retailers, 50 Large Format Retail Stores, 350 Franchisee, 1.25 lacs sq ft Retail space, 10 Direct Sales Agents and a secondary field force of about 6000 to deliver market share objectives for 4G Smartphones customers, prepaid and postpaid acquisitions.

Some of Setia's key responsibilities include developing business strategy, aligning teams, communications, execution, training, rewards and recognition programs and controlling S&D costs. Rakesh is also responsible for achieving revenue and EBITDA objectives for COCO stores as well as building consumer preference

Rakesh Setia has a Doctorate in Business Management from S P Jain School of Global Management, an Advance Management Program from INSEAD, a Masters in Business Administration from Manipal GlobalNxt University, a PGDBM from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, a Diploma in Business Finance from Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India, and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from Kurukshetra University.
