Dwayne King has extensive experience in innovation, design research, and UX design. Dwayne is currently the Founder & CEO of Rutabaga, a company that focuses on insights-driven innovation. Prior to this, they served as a Board Advisor for Pinpoint. Dwayne also held leadership positions at ServiceNow, Iron Mountain, and Salesforce, where they contributed to global innovation, developed methodologies, and facilitated culture change. Dwayne was also the Head of Design Strategy & Founder at Pinpoint, where they pioneered journey mapping and developed a brand trust framework. Dwayne has also taught and trained students in Design Research and UX Design at The Art Institute of Portland and Portland State University. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Technical Strategy and Execution Lead at White Horse and as an Interface Designer at Zoot Enterprises.
Dwayne King has a diverse education history. Dwayne pursued a Certificate in Business Perspectives for Creative Leaders from the Yale School of Management in 2012. Prior to that, in 2010, they obtained an MBA Certificate in Design Strategy from the California College of the Arts.
Moving further back, Dwayne King completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Statistics from Oregon State University between 1995 and 1997. Before that, from 1993 to 1995, they attended Lewis & Clark College and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology.
In addition to their formal education, Dwayne King has also obtained several certifications. Dwayne became a Certified Scrum Master through the Scrum Alliance in April 2018. In January 2018, they acquired the Certified Customer Experience Professional (CCXP) designation from the Customer Experience Professionals Association (CXPA). Lastly, in November 2017, they gained expertise as a Salesforce ADMIN 201 from Salesforce.
