The Ruvvy Resilience Lab is dedicated to transforming the understanding and treatment of the mental and physical health consequences of trauma in youth. Guided by the mission of the National Institute of Mental Health, we aim to identify biomarkers of risk and resilience for posttraumatic stress and anxiety, with a particular focus on youth who have been historically marginalized and excluded from scientific research, as well as youth resettled as refugees. We employ an ecological systems approach to integrate neuroimaging, psychophysiological measures, and environmental data from youth, their families, and their communities. 
  
Our dual objectives are to discover neurobiological indicators that facilitate early detection and prevention of psychiatric disorders, and to translate these findings into scalable, evidence-based interventions, including creative arts and movement therapies. We strive to advocate for these integration of these interventions in schools and communities, ensuring they are accessible to all youth, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds. Through our commitment to rigorous research and community engagement, we aspire to foster resilience and improve mental health outcomes for the next generation.
