Tom Ring has had a diverse work experience, beginning in 2012 with Peak Environmental Inc. as a Field Technician, where they were responsible for Phase 2 site assessment and oversight, sampling and remediation of groundwater, soil, and air contamination, and communication and report preparation. In 2013, Tom Ring worked as a Development Officer for Lacrosse WA, introducing the sport of lacrosse in various primary schools, organizing classes varying in age from 7 to 13, and teaching the history and fundamentals of lacrosse. In 2015, Tom Ring worked as an Associate Scientist for Pinnacle Foods, a contractor role assisting in productivity initiatives for Duncan Hines and Birds Eye brands, and was also a Lab Technician for Mondelēz International, a contractor in North American Gum Innovation supporting new product development across Trident, Stride, and Dentyne Ice brands. Tom Ring also worked as an R&D Lab Technician for Post Holdings that same year. From 2016 to 2018, Tom Ring worked at Unilever as a Food Scientist and Associate Food Scientist, and then at RXBAR as a Lead Food Designer, Sr. Food Scientist, and Food Scientist.
Tom Ring obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology, General from Montclair State University between 2008 and 2012. Tom then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Food Innovation at The Manchester Metropolitan University between 2013 and 2014.
