Colby Slaughter has a diverse work experience history, starting with a role as an Analyst/Associate Buyer at Kohl's Corporation from June 2002 to April 2004. They then worked as a Law Clerk at Dechert LLP from May 2005 to August 2006. In 2007, they became an Attorney at K&L Gates LLP, where they stayed until January 2013. From January 2013 to July 2014, Colby served as a Senior Counsel at Rayonier. They then joined RYAM as a Senior Counsel in July 2014 and worked their way up to the position of Assistant General Counsel from May 2016 to March 2020. After that, they became the Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of RYAM from March 2020 to September 2022. In September 2022, Colby was promoted to Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at RYAM, where they currently hold the position.
Colby Slaughter earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University, where they attended from 1999 to 2002. Colby then pursued further education at the University of Virginia School of Law, where they obtained a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from 2004 to 2007.
