Manuel Alvarez

Manuel Alvarez, CPA, currently serves as the VP of Risk Management and Group Director of International Finance at Ryder System, Inc., a position held since April 1999. In this capacity, Manuel manages the budget, forecasts, and actual results for Supply Chain Solutions' International Operations across Mexico, Canada, and Singapore, while also negotiating pricing and contractual terms with customers. Prior roles at Ryder include Senior Director of Accounting and Director of Insurance Accounting, where Manuel oversaw various accounting functions and conducted monthly actuarial preparations for insurance products. Before joining Ryder, Manuel worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Grupo Santillana and was part of the Audit Practice at Deloitte & Touche USA, LLP. Manuel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Dayton, earned between 1990 and 1994.
